Heritage Conservancy to Host Governor's Outdoor Conference Public Meeting

Heritage Conservancy will host a Governor's Outdoor Conference post conference event at Aldie Mansion in Doylestown on Thursday, June 14th from 6 to 9 p.m. This event is one of five public meetings that will be held around the state to present conference findings and solicit additional ideas and recommendations from organizational and individual stakeholders. The Governor's Outdoor Conference held in March of 2007 was geared to the leadership of organizations and interest groups having a stake in the outdoors and the activities that typically connect people with the outdoors.

"We need to continue exploring ways to keep people connected to our abundant natural resources," Governor Rendell said. "These meetings will make it easier for people from across the state to learn about the findings from our outdoor conference and contribute new ideas to strengthen our outdoor connections."

To help continue that dialogue with individuals and organizations that may not have had the opportunity to attend, a post-conference process will present the conference findings to a broader public, facilitate further discussion, and gather new ideas about how to strengthen our outdoor connections.

Information gleaned from the post-conference meetings and presentations will be incorporated, along with conference findings, into a final report with recommendations for action by the Governor and General Assembly with a target completion date of Fall 2007.
