Heritage Conservancy Celebrates Earth Day With a Cleanup at Hart's Woods Preserve

GSK Earth Day cleanup

In honor of Earth Day, Heritage Conservancy held a planting and cleanup at its Hart’s Woods Preserve in Doylestown, which contains a tributary to the Neshaminy Creek. Nine volunteers from GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) joined up with Heritage Conservancy staff members to plant 60 trees and shrubs along the stream bank. These plantings will help to prevent soil erosion and protect water quality.

The group also removed nonnative burning bush plants to give the new trees (as well as other native plants on the property such as skunk cabbage) a fighting chance and then cleared approximately 1 mile of trail for the passive recreational enjoyment of our community. This day was made possible thanks in part to the TreeVitalize Watershed Grant program.
