Thanksgiving Bird Count

November 22 @ 9:00 am - 10:30 am

Saturday, November 22nd, 9:00 am to 10:30 am
Russell-Mandel Preserve, New Hope, PA

Join Heritage Conservancy for our very first Thanksgiving Bird Count at our Russell-Mandel Preserve! In this season of reflection and gratitude, we want to take a moment to thank our Members whose support makes our mission possible. During this Member-exclusive event, Conservation Easement Steward, Sebastian Harris, will lead a walk through our newly restored meadow to collect data on all of the bird species present, as well as their abundances.

We’ll keep an eye out for American Kestrels, Ravens, and much more, all the while learning about the importance of native plants for overwintering birds. Our hope is that this will be the first of a yearly bird count, eventually leading to Heritage Conservancy having a long-term dataset of birds that are visiting the preserve. Data collected will also be submitted to eBird to help inform greater population trends in the region.

Registration: $10 for Members. Register HERE
