Volunteer FAQs
Questions about volunteering with Heritage Conservancy? We’ve got answers.
What is it like to volunteer with Heritage Conservancy?
Every day is different and every project is unique. Our gardening and Fridays in the Forest volunteer opportunities are often outside and hands-on in nature! If you are looking for an indoor opportunity, you might be interested in volunteering to help us decorate Aldie Mansion for the holidays or prep materials for a special event. Your volunteer efforts directly support Heritage Conservancy’s mission of historic and natural preservation and its community programs.
How can I get started volunteering?
Take a look at our Volunteer Opportunities to learn about new and ongoing volunteer projects. You might also check our upcoming events for special workdays.
Connect with Kaylyn Brindisi at volunteer@heritageconservancy.org or 215-345-7020 x157 to learn more about those and other opportunities.
Do you offer community service to fulfill an institutional obligation?
We offer volunteer opportunities that may fulfill school- or church-required community service hours. Please note that we do not accept court-ordered community service. While we cannot guarantee opportunities that match your schedule or required number of hours, we will do our best to help you meet eligible community service requirements.
If you are seeking school or church community service hours, please contactvolunteer@heritageconservancy.org.
How does my volunteer work relate to Heritage Conservancy’s overall mission?
Without volunteer support, we wouldn’t be able to fully preserve and protect the places that make our region so beautiful! Each of our volunteer projects helps to further our mission in some way. For example, our weekly groups help maintain natural areas, historic gardens, and fragile habitats. Trash clean-ups and invasive species removal projects are essential to our property stewardship program.
