Butterfly Bonanza

Join Heritage Conservancy for a hands-on afternoon exploring the fascinating world of butterflies. Participants will help catch butterflies as our community scientists, led by Tyler, conduct a survey of the species found on our preserve.
From 2:40 to 3:00 PM, stick around for a monarch tagging demonstration. Tyler will show how researchers tag monarchs as part of a larger community science effort tracking their fall migration, work that helps scientists understand migration routes, the influence of weather, and survival rates along the way.
Throughout the survey, enjoy family-friendly butterfly activities suited for naturalists of all ages.
This event is a great way to get outside, learn something new, and see real conservation science in action.
