Pollinator Picnic Garden Party

Join Heritage Conservancy’s Members for a laid-back Pollinator Picnic at our Russell-Mandel Preserve. Enjoy strolling through the preserve, family-friendly activities, live music, and a picnic lunch.
Explore the land you help protect and celebrate the vital role Members play in sustaining pollinators and the places we all call home.
The Garden Party is our annual opportunity to thank our Members; membership must be active to register for this event.

2nd Saturday Strolls at Croydon Woods

Join Heritage Conservancy for a family-friendly guided nature walk through the beautiful Croydon Woods Nature Preserve every second Saturday of the month! These strolls are a chance to slow down, connect with nature, and discover the plants and wildlife that make this 80-acre coastal plain forest such a special place.
This is a FREE event, but registration is required. REGISTER HERE.

Nighttime Glow Hike at Croydon Woods
Friday, October 24, 6:45 pm – 8:15 pm
Step into a magical world only revealed through the illumination of blacklights on our Nighttime Glow Hike at Croydon Woods!
Blacklights will be provided as we make stops along the trail to discover the tracks and traces that nocturnal animals leave behind, while also experiencing the hidden wonders of plants and fungi.

Fall Frenzy
Tuesday, November 11th, 9:00 am – 12:00 pm and/or 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm
Help us to get Aldie Mansion buttoned up for winter!
We will work to trim back bushes, rake leaves, and complete other projects in the gardens. Your work will aid in the preservation and protection of this historic property and its grounds.
There are morning and afternoon volunteer shifts available.

Thanksgiving Bird Count
Saturday, November 22nd, 9:00 am – 10:30 am
Join us for our very first Thanksgiving Bird Count at our Russell-Mandel Preserve! During this Member-exclusive event, Conservation Easement Steward Sebastian Harris will lead a walk through our meadow with the goal of collecting data on all of the bird species present.
