On a beautiful summer evening in August, we were grateful to once again gather in person for our Farm to Tailgate event and experience the impact of a legacy gift at Heritage Conservancy’s Russell-Mandel Preserve in Buckingham Township. This year’s event was a fun and festive reimagining of our annual Farm to Table fundraiser. Guests spread out personal tailgate tables and enjoyed live music, tours of the property, delicious food, and sharing stories and laughter with each other. Witnessing the coming together of a group of individuals with a shared passion for preserving and protecting our natural and historic heritage is always inspiring.
The rolling farmland and historic farmhouse, barn, and cottage at the Russell-Mandel Preserve exemplify our dual mission of protecting open spaces and historic places. While this property illustrates our mission, Farm to Table represents it in action by providing a firsthand experience of the importance of protecting our lands.
More than just a summer celebration with a unique experience, picturesque setting, and incredible locally-sourced food, this event serves as so much more. Each year, we rely on this fundraising event to raise the critical funds needed to continue permanently protecting the significant natural and historic resources throughout our community.
Despite COVID-19 keeping us from gathering in person last year, many of you remained steadfast in your support and contributed to the important cause. Because of your generosity, Heritage Conservancy preserved nine properties totaling 380 in 2020 alone!
This year, Heritage Conservancy has already preserved four properties encompassing approximately 105 acres, and we plan to preserve an additional seven totaling over 230 acres before the start of 2022. Thank you to those who have already donated!
