Municpal Partnerships

Conservation easements can also be placed on public lands, like local parks, to ensure that natural and recreational lands remain open to the community. Heritage Conservancy holds conservation easements on public lands and is called upon by local municipalities to help preserve and protect open spaces. We consult with townships and local governments on planning, land protection, and advocacy.

Heritage Conservancy utilizes nature-based climate solutions to guide stewardship on the land it owns. Our goal is to increase native biodiversity on our nature preserves. Habitats with lots of native speices are more resilient and can adapt better to a changing climate, ensuring the land will continue to thrive into the future. By restoring ecosystems through reforestation and native species conservation, we are able to sequester carbon, improve water quality, and reduce environmental risks to our community.
