Business Partners Reception: Celebrating Partnership and Impact

On April 17, Heritage Conservancy hosted business leaders from across the region for a special evening of connection, awards, and celebration at our annual Business Partners Reception at Aldie Mansion. Attendees enjoyed a festive happy hour featuring drinks and hors d’oeuvres by Jeffrey A. Miller Catering while celebrating the community impact their support makes possible.

The event honored the ongoing support of our business community, whose partnership fuels critical land preservation and community education efforts throughout the region. It was also a wonderful opportunity for networking, as guests connected with fellow leaders who share a passion for protecting the natural and historic resources in the communities where they do business.

Heritage Conservancy was pleased to present two local businesses with special awards recognizing exceptional commitment to Heritage Conservancy’s mission:

Community Partner Award: C&N Banking, Lending, Wealth Management

C&N has been an active and generous Business Partner with Heritage Conservancy for almost 20 years, including their support for our education programs through the use of the Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program (EITC) since 2021.

(Curious about EITC? Join our webinar in May!)

Their generous support has helped us grow our education programs by more than 50% in the last year. In 2023 we approached 1,600 students coming through our education programs, and in 2024 that number was up to 2,400 students, with numbers still growing in 2025.

Heritage Conservancy is proud to present C&N with the Community Partner Award for their continued support. Blair Rush, Executive Vice President/Southeast Region President at C&N Bank, accepted the award.

“We’re honored and privileged to receive this award from Heritage,” Blair told the event attendees. “The reason we support Heritage is because we believe strongly in giving back to the communities where we live and work. And I think if we do that, we’re all better for it, and our communities are better for it. And that’s why all of you are in this room today — because you’re doing that same thing.”

Preservation Partner Award: Gilmore & Associates, Inc., Engineering and Consulting Services

In the 30 years of their engagement with Heritage Conservancy, Gilmore & Associates have delivered on their goal of making a difference in local communities. The organization has partnered with us on preservation projects, donated membership support, and supported Heritage Conservancy’s mission through committee involvement.

This year, Gilmore & Associates has increased their support by sponsoring our first-ever Arbor Day Tree Planting at Lindsey Park Farm Preserve. Not only are they providing funding, but they are also bringing their workforce of over 20 volunteers to plant trees. This award is a testament to their continued dedication to land preservation and community action, and we are honored by their support.

Gilmore & Associates Executive Vice President Greg Glitzer accepted the award.

“Collaboration has nurtured a conservation mindset in many of us at Gilmore,” said Greg. “We know that full preservation of signature properties is an increasingly difficult proposition and a rare opportunity. As planners and land designers, we can let that conservation ethic permeate our everyday work. On behalf of Gilmore & Associates, we want to thank Heritage Conservancy for this Preservation Partner Award, with the emphasis on the word partner.”
