Flora and Folklore

November 11 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Step into the world of the Lenape Hoking Indians with “Flora and Folklore: Lenape Tales, Plant Wisdom, and Woodland Walk,” located at our Croydon Woods Preserve.

Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy a delightful selection of snacks that connect to the indigenous flavors of the Lenape. Engage in immersive storytelling as the Lenape share their ancestral tales, offering insights into their traditions and the significance of native plants in their culture. Following the narratives, take a leisurely guided walk through the tranquil woods, where you’ll learn firsthand about the importance of some of the local native plants that sustained the Lenape way of life. This event offers a unique opportunity to discover history, deepen your connection with nature, and honor the heritage of the Lenape people.
