Earth Day in May & New Nature Play Areas at Croydon Woods Nature Preserve

Despite the sweltering heat on Saturday, guests were excited to attend our Earth Day in May event at the Croydon Woods Nature Preserve!

Throughout the day, there were several nature walks that took guests on a short hike throughout the woods. One child in particular loved the nature walk and was excited to share that she learned all about the different types of ferns, and even got to see a frog! Children also enjoyed participating in our pollinator relay race and other lawn games, making butterfly coffee filter crafts, and receiving fun prizes such as seed packets and our Wind in the Willows board game.

In addition to the wonderful activities and information our organization and partners provided, we celebrated the opening of our new Nature Play areas with a speech and ribbon cutting from Heritage Conservancy President Bill Kunze. During this ceremony, we also celebrated the winners of the Croydon Woods Welcome Sign contest, and the grand prize winner, Madison, was able to help Bill cut the ribbon!

This event could not have been possible without our sponsor, Fulton Bank, as well as our following partners: Bristol Township, Bucks County Opportunity Council, East Coast Greenway Alliance, G.O.A.L., Gilmore & Associates, Lower Bucks County Athletic Association, Lower Bucks Joint Municipal Authority, Margaret R. Grundy Memorial Library, Pennsylvania Environmental Council, and Silver Lake Nature Center.
