b'Land HistoryCommunityFROM THE LEADERSHIP TEAMDear Friends,Organizations that sustain success across time hold true to their core, and they continuallyevolve. This might sound like a paradox, but its the only way to stay true in a constantly changing world.Since 1958, Heritage Conservancy has advanced a dual mission of land conservation and historic preservation. We are grateful to our supporters for helping us achieve great success in both dimensions of this mission. Over the last 65 years, we have protected more than 16,000 acres of open space, farmland, wildlife habitat, and important watershed areas throughout Bucks and other surrounding counties. We also hold historic preservationeasements and maintain a Register of Historic Places with nearly 700 entries. In our workto connect people to the environment and history of our region, we interact with thousands of community members every year, including more than 2,500 students. As you can see in the pages that follow, with your help, we were able to make important additions to this record of success in 2022. Thank you!We also took time in 2022 to craft a new three-year Strategic Plan for 2023-2025. In addition to doing more of the great work weve always done, we identify the need to work at the intersection of land conservation and climate change, to go beyond historic structures to include sites and stories that reflect the full history of our communities, and to deepen our efforts to help people connect with the nature and history of our region. This strategic direction is reflected in our updated mission statement:Heritage Conservancys mission is to protect and care for the lands of our region; to engage with and share the history that unfolded on these lands; and to connect people with both. You can find a fuller overview of our strategic direction at https://heritageconservancy.org/who-we-are/+ . Come with us as we discover the full meaning of our mission in the third decade of this century!Yours in Conservation,Find more informationon our website whenyou see this symbol+ William W.
